  • Once you locate an article on your topic, you may want to try reading level 3 to find additional information.

  • Click the above link or the POWER Library icon on your computer's desktop.
  • Click the "List All" link on the right side of the page and then scroll down and select SIRS Discoverer from the alphabetical list. (Click the words "SIRS Discoverer" not the icon.
  • After the SIRS Discoverer window opens, type the name of your endangered animal in the search box near the top of the page, choose Subject Headings to the left of the search box, and click the Search button.

  • You may have to select a subject from a results list if there are more than one related subject headings.
  • Read the summaries and descriptors in the results list and select an article to read by clicking the link. If there are no results for your search, try again, this time selecting Keyword/Natural Language instead of Subject Headings.
  • Use the tabs at the top of the page to narrow your results. Click the reference tab to start.
  • Click the Graphics tab for related images.
  • Click the WebFind Sites tab for related web sites. Read the short descriptions to determine which are relevant to your assignment.

You will need to log onto Destiny in order to search for websites. Your username and password are the same as those you use to log onto the school computers. Once you are logged on, search as you normally would and then click the websites tab to see the search results.
